INTRODUCTION
The M.A Applied Psychology programme lays an emphasis on understanding and applying psychology through experiential learning and hands on activities, apart from classroom learning. This includes the use of the Human Lab, which is a Centre for Psychometric Assessment, Psychological Counseling, Psychotherapy & Training & Development at the Department of Psychology.
The objective is to help the Applied Psychology student strengthen domain knowledge and to hone applied skills which are needed in the real world workplace.
The course provides practical exposure in terms of research and field practice.

M.A. – Applied Psychology is a two-year post-graduate programme that enhances and builds upon the knowledge and skills gained from the master’s program of M.A. – Applied Psychology. It is designed to teach various theories, methods, techniques, and principles in the scientific study of behaviour and mental processes.
M.A. – Applied Psychology focusses to encourage learners to explore connections between psychology and other disciplines. The curriculum includes the latest trends in M.A. – Applied Psychology, with emphasis on practical training and fieldwork. The courses lay special emphasis develop confidence, knowledge, capability and purpose in both the research and practical application of psychological theory. The course examines how psychology is applied to work and in the community and how psychological interventions might help in real world problems.
The specific goal of the M.A. Applied Psychology will be to equip learners to practice developmental, mental health and issue-based assessment and interventions with a focus on primary prevention and therapeutic interventions. The current M.A. programme aims to develop students’ self-awareness and a sound theoretical base from which they can build skills necessary for practice in fieldwork and internship settings. The emphasis is on a seamless blend of theory and practice. The focus is also on developing research capacities of students. Supervision is inbuilt into the practice component allowing students to benefit from feedback provided by trained professionals in the field. The programme intends to prepare students to practice in the areas of psychological assessment and diagnosis, human resources, counseling and therapy, group influence, and psychological research
