About Department:

The department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) at IILM-CET was established in the year 2004. The branch offers full-time B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering and M.Tech degree in Computer aided design and Manufacturing (CAD-CAM). The faculty is highly qualified and experienced in various fields of ME. The faculty is dedicated to engineering education in order to provide students with diverse and effective learning atmosphere to support, excel in today’s competitive environment. We provide M.Tech degree with specialization in CAD-CAM that provides a wider range for research work to its students in the field of computer aided design, geometric modelling, and flexible manufacturing system and optimization techniques. Mechanical Engineering department is well equipped with basic amenities and always consistent in developing and making students familiar with new technological advancements on different industry-oriented and science-based educational modules such as 3D Printing, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Mechatronics, and In-house Training on designing software, assembling and dismantling of automobiles etc. The essential focal point of these modules is to develop the critical thinking, logical abilities so as to develop new innovations and promotes application-based learning. Driven by the desire to know more, our students have successfully fabricated IOT Based Smart Helmet, 90 Degree Steering Mechanism, Octocopter, Foot-Paddle Washing Machine, IOT Based Robot, Amphibian Drone etc. Winning the first position in NASA Annual Moon Buggy Race, 2014 is one of their most prestigious achievements. Department of Mechanical Engineering has earned a respected name through its proud association with reputed organizations like Wipro, UAML, GAIL, IGL etc. through the Internship and Placements of its students. We keep pushing our boundaries through Entrepreneurial interactions, Industrial visits, Exhibition visits, Expert talks to maintain the bridge between industry and academia.

Since 2015, Department of Mechanical Engineering is jointly organizing ADMECH (Advancement in Mechanical Engineering) Seminar and has invited eminent personalities such as- His Excellency Mr. Parakhat H. Durdyev – Ambassador of Turkmenistan; Dr. S Maji- Ex- Director IGNOU; Dr. H. Purushotham- Chairman & MD of NRDC, and a few more eminent personalities related to GAIL, IGL etc. to discuss the contribution made by Mechanical Engineers in India’s Development.
