Ms. Roma Chandra is working as Assistant Professor in Department of Biotechnology at CET, IILM, Greater Noida since 2010. She is B.Tech. in Biotechnology (2008) from IET, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra and M.Tech. in Bioinformatics (2010) from IIIT, Allahabad. She had qualified GATE in 2008 and received scholarship from MHRD during M.Tech. Her teaching expertise areas include Bioinformatics and Biochemistry. Apart from KRA teaching, she had worked as a member of admission cell team, exam cell team, NBA accreditation team as well as coordinator for website development, blogs, facebook page, college magazine and students club for Biotech Department at IILM. She has been an active member in organizing seminars and conferences at IILM. During her M.Tech. she had done one year project on ‘miRNA mRNA module prediction leading to microarray data analysis to develop gene regulatory network’ at IIIT, Allahabad. Her B.Tech. major project was on ‘Homology Modeling and Model Validation of Bifunctional AAC/APH protein of Staphylococcus sciuri’ at ACS-Bioinformatics, Biotech Park, Lucknow and minor project on ‘Frequency of Aspergillus niger in micro-flora of Agra soil’ at I.E.T, Agra. She has done one month training in various technologies at ‘National Jalma Institute for Leprosy and Other Mycobacterial Diseases’, Agra, ‘Cream Bell Ice Cream’ of Universal Dairy Products Pvt. Ltd.,Agra and ‘Mohan Meakin Ltd.’, Lucknow during B.Tech. She had participated in many conferences like Bio Expo at I.E.T, Agra, Emergence of Nanotechnology at IILM, Gr. Noida, short term course on Soft Computing using Sci-Lab through ICT by NITTR Chandigarh, etc. She has presented and published papers in National and International conferences. She is presently pursuing PhD in Bioinformatics on ‘In silico study, prediction and construction of database for drug resistant microRNAs for cancer’ at Shri Venkateshwara University, Gajraula and is publishing her work both in International and National journals. Her strengths includes self motivation & confidence, leadership quality, positive & keep going attitude and to stay in learning mode bringing innovative ideas to work with new technologies.
