Dr. Sonam Lata is an accomplished academician and researcher specializing in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science & Analytics, Wireless Sensor Networks, Cryptography & Cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT), and Data Security. With over eight years of experience in teaching and research, she has demonstrated exceptional contributions to academia and industry-oriented research, mentoring students, and publishing impactful work in her areas of expertise.

Dr. Lata earned her Ph.D. from Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi (2022), her M.Tech. from NIT Kurukshetra (2016), and her B.Tech. from Uttar Pradesh Technical University (2013).

She is a recipient of an internationally funded research grant worth ₹8,00,000 for a project focusing on secure data transmission in wireless sensor networks using cryptographic techniques and clustering algorithms. Dr. Lata has been granted patents for Cyber-attack Prevention System for Automotive Systems Using AI and Breast Cancer Detection. Dr. Lata has published over Published 7+ SCI-indexed papers (IEEE Access, Alexandria Engineering Journal, MDPI Sensors), authored book chapters with CRC Press and working on AI-enabled diagnostic models for breast and prostate cancer. Dr. Lata has also presented 10+ conference papers at national and international forums.

Dr. Lata has taught a diverse range of courses, including: Programming Languages: C, Python, and Java, Core Computer Science Subjects: Data Structures, Theory of Computation, Computer Networks, and Cryptography, AI and Emerging Technologies: Machine Learning, IoT, and Data Science. She is deeply committed to mentoring students, enabling them to understand complex concepts, and fostering their growth.

She is SPOC for School of Computer Science & Engineering events and has organised organized AI Winter School, AI Design Sprint, and expert sessions on Cyber Security & Design Innovation and lot more events successfully. Dr. Sonam is passionate about building practical AI solutions, fostering curiosity-driven learning, and making technology inclusive and impactful for education and healthcare.
