Students develop storytelling, investigative, and multimedia skills across print, broadcast, and digital platforms, guided by faculty with decades of industry experience. They also learn how to use generative AI tools to create multimedia content that combines text, photos, animations and videos. Students explore 2D and 3D animation, game design, VFX, UI/UX, and interactive storytelling using industry-standard tools including Maya, Blender, Unreal Engine, Unity, and more. Former Executive Editor (Head of fact-checking & OSINT; media literacy trainer) at Jagran New Media & MCA Governing Council and FCN Board member (ex officio). Jatin is a journalist and editor with experience across different media -- newspapers, magazines, TV and digital -- and with the country's leading brands: Times group, India Today, The Hindu, Hindustan Times, The Indian Express, Jagran group, Star News and NDTV. He taught Media Laws and Journalism at the Times School of Media (2019-22) and is currently advisor to three Central Universities -- IIMC, CUH & IGNOU -- on Journalism & Communication. He also teaches at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi, IMT, Ghaziabad and IILM University, Gurugram. Everything you need to know about studying communication, journalism, and media at IILM

Not at all. Communication welcomes students from science, commerce, and humanities. What matters most is curiosity, storytelling ability, and a desire to understand the world. Our curriculum brings all students up to speed regardless of background.

Journalism focuses on reporting, storytelling, and public interest writing, preparing students for roles in news media. Corporate Communication focuses on strategic messaging, PR, branding, and organisational communication. Both require strong writing, research, and media skills.

Minor selection typically happens after the foundational year. Students are guided through the process with academic counselling. Please consult the department for specific policies on flexibility and credit transfer.
