IILM University organized a Faculty Development Workshop on “Teaching, Research and Projects in Information Systems” on 24th July 2025. The session was conducted by the esteemed Dr. Deepak Khazanchi, a leading academician and researcher in the field of Information Systems from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, USA.

Mr. Manoj Kumar, Assistant Manager-Technical at DesignTech Systems Pvt. Ltd., shared the power and versatility of MATLAB in ML and DL applications. The B.Tech Orientation Program “Disha” was organized from 11th to 14th August 2025 with the objective of familiarizing students with academic culture, fostering a sense of belonging, and encouraging holistic development through academic sessions, cultural events, and engagement activities.
The four-day program included addresses by eminent dignitaries, interactive workshops, cultural performances, and industry talks, along with fun-filled activities like Capers, talent shows, and AR/VR experiences.

The first day began with Registration, followed by the Inaugural Ceremony marked with lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana. A graceful classical dance performance set the cultural tone of the event.

The second day began with a Panel Discussion, after which students actively participated in Capers – an engagement activity. Capers included role plays, tug of war, team-building games, and creative challenges, allowing students to showcase their teamwork, leadership, and creativity. The lively atmosphere encouraged bonding among peers while promoting fun learning.

The School of Computer Science & Engineering (SCSE), IILM University, Gurugram organized the Engineer’s Day Celebration 2025 on the theme “Best out of Waste: Engineering for a Circular Economy.” The event marked a tribute to engineers’ contributions in shaping society while encouraging students to innovate responsibly for sustainable development.
The primary objective of the event was to promote awareness about circular economy practices and to encourage students to design innovative solutions that convert waste into valuable resources. Through competitions, expert talks, and collaborative participation, the event aimed to enhance students’ creativity, problem-solving skills, and sense of responsibility toward society and the environment.

GameDev x GamingArena was a dynamic event that successfully blended technical knowledge with competitive excitement. The program began with an expert talk session featuring Mr. Avnish Gupta and Mr. Manvendra Singh Deora, both accomplished Unity Developers. They shared valuable insights on the fundamentals of Unity game development, the future of the gaming industry, and career opportunities for students aspiring to enter this fast-growing field. Their talks were interactive, motivating participants to think creatively about how gaming extends beyond entertainment into education, simulation, and innovation. After the knowledge-packed session, the atmosphere shifted to high energy with the BGMI Tournament. Squads of four registered with a nominal fee and competed for a total prize pool of ₹5100. From 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm, the gaming arena was filled with enthusiasm, strategy, and loud cheers from the audience as teams battled for the top spot.
The event concluded at 5:00 pm with the announcement of winners and prize distribution ceremony, where the top three squads were rewarded with cash prizes of ₹3000, ₹1500, and ₹600 respectively, along with certificates. The prize distribution recognized not only the winners but also the spirit of participation and sportsmanship demonstrated by all teams. Overall, the event created a perfect balance of learning and engagement, giving students exposure to real-world game development insights and fostering a culture of teamwork, competition, and innovation on campus.

Dr. Naveen B.P. delivered an insightful guest lecture on “Problem Identification and Solutions in Large-Scale Infrastructure Projects,” where he explained the multifaceted challenges faced during execution and management of such projects. Drawing from real-life examples like the iconic Chenab River Bridge and the Bangalore Metro plan, he demonstrated how engineering, financial, environmental, and logistical issues are tackled with innovative solutions. The session provided students with valuable exposure to practical problem-solving approaches beyond classroom learning, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications.

The AWS Academy has been launched under the School of Computer Science & Engineering at IILM University, Gurugram with the objective of developing future-ready cloud professionals and strengthening industry-aligned technical education. The academy provides students with access to AWS-designed curriculum, hands-on cloud labs, and certification pathways used globally by universities and industries.
To build awareness and empower students from the start, the AWS Academy Inaugural Session was conducted on 30th October 2025, in the presence of AWS officials. The session introduced the AWS Academy ecosystem, certification roadmap, and cloud career opportunities, while encouraging students to participate in upcoming cloud-based learning modules, projects, and lab-based training.
The session was organized to introduce and create awareness among students about the newly established AWS Academy under the School of Computer Science & Engineering. The aim was to highlight the vision, objectives, learning roadmap, and opportunities that the academy offers to students and faculty in the domain of cloud computing and emerging technologies. The inauguration was graced by two esteemed guests from AWS Academy: Ms. Pratibha Singh, Business Development & Strategy Lead for AWS Education Programs across India and South Asia, and Ms. Akanksha Rai Sharma, Technical Program Manager, AWS Academy, leading AWS Academy strategy across India and South Asia.

The Robo Race 2025 commenced with Ms. Skashi Chauhan formally opening the event as the official anchor. She began by extending a warm and respectful welcome to all dignitaries, faculty members, team leaders, participants, and the audience present. Her poised introduction set the tone for an energetic yet disciplined competition focused on creativity, technical proficiency, and innovation.
Ms. Chauhan then delivered the inaugural event speech, wherein she highlighted the significance of the Robo Race as a platform for students to practically apply their engineering knowledge. She emphasized that the event not only fosters technical development but also encourages teamwork, problem-solving, and real-time decision-making — skills that hold immense value in robotics and automation domains.
In her detailed briefing, Ms. Chauhan elaborated on the objective of the competition: each participating team was required to design and operate a robot capable of navigating a 5 cm-wide track with accuracy and speed. She explained that although the challenge may appear straightforward, it demands a high level of precision in programming, sensor calibration, motor coordination, and structural stability.
Following this, she carefully outlined the rules and evaluation parameters, ensuring all teams had clarity before the competition began. The key points included:

IEEE, being the world’s largest technical professional organization, provides students with opportunities for global exposure, technical advancement, leadership development, and participation in premier conferences and competitions.
The inauguration ceremony aimed to introduce the IEEE Student Branch to the university community, highlight its mission, and encourage student engagement in future technical and research-driven initiatives.
The primary objective of the event was to formally launch the IEEE Student Branch and create awareness among students about the advantages of being a part of IEEE. ByteForce Club, School of Computer Science and Engineering, IILM University, Gurugram, hosted The Byte Hunt 2025 which was an engaging and interactive campus-wide treasure hunt that blended coding with adventure. Participants solved C-program-based clues placed across multiple locations to progress through the event. Starting near Lab 6, teams showcased teamwork, problem solving, logical thinking, and programming skills as they raced to decode each hint. The event created an energetic and collaborative atmosphere, offering students a fun and practical way to apply their coding knowledge.

The School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE) organized an exciting Inter-School Gaming Tournament featuring BGMI and Valorant on 21st November 2025 at IILM. This initiative was undertaken to promote teamwork, strategic thinking, and healthy competition among students while providing them with an engaging platform to showcase their gaming skills. The event brought together enthusiastic participants from various schools, creating an energetic and collaborative environment that extended beyond traditional academic activities.
The tournament featured two of the most popular esports titles BGMI and Valorant allowing students to compete in team-based formats that required coordination, communication, and tactical planning. With attractive prizes worth up to Rs. 5000, the event generated immense excitement and motivated students to participate wholeheartedly.
Registered teams of 3–4 members competed in a structured, professionally managed format supported by dedicated volunteers responsible for logistics, technical setup, and event coordination. The tournament served not only as a recreational opportunity but also as a platform for students to experience the growing field of esports, explore teamwork dynamics, and build peer connections.
By hosting this event, SCSE reinforced its commitment to fostering student engagement, enhancing co-curricular learning, and creating a vibrant campus culture. The Gaming Tournament proved to be an impactful initiative that blended fun, skill development, and community-building, making it a memorable experience for all participants.

The Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Cyber Security Fundamentals with Microsoft Azure was conducted with the objective of strengthening faculties’ understanding of modern cybersecurity concepts and their real-world applications on cloud platforms.
On Day 1, the trainer provided a comprehensive introduction to the Microsoft SC-100: Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert exam. The session covered the overall exam structure, skills measured, and major domains such as security strategy, governance, risk management, identity and access management, and security operations. Key topics included in the SC-100 syllabus were discussed in detail, helping faculties align their learning with certification requirements. Additionally, practice assessments and scenario-based questions were conducted to familiarize faculties with the exam pattern and analytical approach required for the certification.
Day 2 focused on designing solutions that align with security best practices and organizational priorities. A virtual lab environment was set up where faculties gained hands-on experience in implementing security controls. The lab emphasized practical implications of access control mechanisms, user privileges, role-based access control (RBAC), identity management, and secure configuration practices, enabling faculties to bridge the gap between theory and real-world implementation.
On Day 3, faculties designed a University Secure Portal using Python and MySQL. Two versions of the application were developed: Secure_App and Vulnerable_App. This comparative approach helped faculties understand common security vulnerabilities and the corresponding mitigation strategies, reinforcing secure coding practices and application-level security concepts.

AI Winter School 2.0 was a three-day immersive academic and skill-development program designed to introduce school and undergraduate students to Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and AI–IoT integration. The event focused on building strong conceptual foundations along with hands-on exposure to practical tools and real-world use cases.
Key discussions revolved around the fundamentals of AI, supervised and unsupervised learning, data-driven decision-making, and ethical considerations in AI deployment. Special emphasis was placed on responsible AI, data privacy, and the societal impact of intelligent systems. Participants actively engaged in hands-on coding sessions, mini-projects, and collaborative problem-solving activities.
The program successfully bridged the gap between theory and practice by enabling students to conceptualize AI solutions for real-life problems. Interactive sessions, live demonstrations, and team-based activities enhanced learning outcomes and fostered innovation, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The session focused on helping students understand how ideas evolve into viable ventures, emphasizing execution, systems, market understanding, and adaptability. It sought to build an entrepreneurial mindset and prepare students for upcoming modules in the Venture Ideation series.
The session began with a warm welcome and introduction of the speaker, followed by an engaging talk on innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup execution. Mr. Nitish Pandey shared real- world insights into building scalable systems, navigating market challenges, managing backend operations, and understanding the importance of experimentation and pivots in business growth. He discussed how innovation is not limited to ideas but depends heavily on execution, operational clarity, market timing, and resilience. Students were introduced to practical aspects such as ERP systems, legal compliance, process structuring, and decision-making during uncertainty. The session saw active participation from approximately 100 students, many of whom asked thoughtful questions related to startup challenges, career paths, and venture execution. The speaker addressed these queries with clarity and real-life examples, making the interaction highly engaging and valuable. Overall, the session was informative, interactive, and impactful, successfully setting the tone for the Venture Ideation module series.

It focused on building entrepreneurial confidence, strategic thinking, and awareness of startup support systems in India.
The session commenced with a formal welcome followed by expert talks on India’s rapidly growing startup ecosystem and the role of innovation in nation-building. Mr. Himangshu Watts spoke about the vision behind the Startup India initiative and emphasized the importance of shifting from a job-seeking mindset to a job-creating mindset among youth. He highlighted how startups today are not merely businesses but infrastructure powering everyday life — from healthcare and mobility to finance, education, and e-commerce.
Mr. Chaahat Khattar shared valuable insights into India’s consumption landscape, emerging sectors such as SaaS, electric vehicles, fintech, and direct-to-consumer brands, and the massive scale of digital adoption through platforms like UPI and e-retail. He explained how startups today benefit from supportive government policies, funding mechanisms, tax exemptions, mentorship networks, and global exposure opportunities. The speakers also outlined the Startup India recognition process, eligibility criteria, and flagship schemes supporting startups from ideation to scaling stages. Students learned about the importance of execution, market validation, risk-taking, and resilience in entrepreneurial journeys. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, with thoughtful questions on startup funding, ideation, career paths, and risk management. The session commenced with a formal welcome and introduction of the guest speaker, Ms. Meena Bahl Kapoor, Founder and CEO of Astroyogi, one of India’s leading astrotech platforms serving millions of users globally.Ms. Kapoor shared the evolutionary journey of Astroyogi, explaining how the venture adapted across multiple technological eras. She detailed the transition from the Web 1.0 phase to Value Added Services (VAS), followed by the Web 2.0 shift. She further elaborated on the integration of cloud-based call center infrastructure, the shift towards app-first architecture in response to changing user behavior, and eventually embracing the AI revolution to enhance personalization and operational efficiency. This progression demonstrated how sustainable ventures continuously evolve alongside technological transformation rather than remaining static.
The speaker also addressed the critical distinction between bootstrapping and raising external funding. She emphasized that funding should be aligned with business vision and growth strategy. While bootstrapping enables control and disciplined growth, funding can accelerate expansion when strategically utilized. It also sought to enhance scientific understanding, communication skills, teamwork, and creativity while celebrating the spirit of scientific inquiry and innovation in alignment with the theme “Voices of Science: Debates, Ethics & Digital Creativity.”
The objective of the National Science Day celebration was to promote scientific awareness and encourage active student participation through engaging academic activities. It aimed to foster critical thinking, ethical discussions, creativity, and effective communication while celebrating the spirit of scientific inquiry and innovation.
The programme began with the Lighting of the Lamp and Saraswati Vandana, followed by the Welcome Address, Welcome Address by the Faculty Coordinator and an address by the Chief Guest Smt. Garima Rohela Maa’m. A key highlight of the event was the student-led Science Debate on the theme “Science in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” where teams presented arguments and rebuttals based on scientific reasoning. Another major attraction was the “Byte-Sized Science” Short Video Contest, where participants creatively explained scientific and computing concepts within 60 seconds. The event concluded with a Prize Distribution Ceremony, Vote of Thanks, and a group photograph, marking a successful and engaging celebration.
