
Associate Professor
Somya Sharma is an Assistant Professor at IILM University, Greater Noida, and an academician with over eight years of experience across academia and the corporate sector. A UGC-NET qualified scholar, she is currently pursuing her PhD at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS), where her research focuses on Caste Representation in Indian Regional Cinema: An Analytical Study of Over-the-Top (OTT) Content. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi, and a Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. Her academic interests span Journalism and Media Studies, with a focus on Advertising, Public Relations, Theatre Studies, and Film Appreciation. Professionally, she has worked with higher education institutions, advertising agencies, and government bodies such as the Institute of Government Accounts and Finance (INGAF), Ministry of Finance. She is also a passionate theatre practitioner and educator, as well as an avid cinephile and reader.
