Dr. Deepika Dhiman is a multidisciplinary artist and educator whose work delves into the intersections of cultural identity, gender, and societal norms, particularly stemming from the colonial history of India and the complexities of decolonization. Her artistic endeavors are deeply influenced by personal experiences, encompassing themes of foreignness, gender, sexuality, discrimination, borders, and identity within the context of Indian culture. Dr. Dhiman’s work has been widely recognized and published in various magazines and academic platforms, focusing on autoethnography and visual storytelling to explore the formation of identity through societal norms in India and the United States. Her art has been exhibited globally, showcasing her exploration of boundaries and influences on daily life through multimedia installations, performance art, and visual storytelling. Dr. Dhiman has a diverse range of experiences in both academic and industry settings, teaching at institutions such as Texas Tech University, Lissa School of Design in Delhi, and Ohio University. Her industry experience spans roles as an editor, graphic/visual storyteller, lead graphic artist, and interior designer.
