The School of Management at IILM University, Gurugram, hosted a National Seminar titled “Leading in a Changing World: Emerging Opportunities, Risks and Strategic Responses” — a high-level academic event that convened three distinguished panellists from banking, technology, and entrepreneurship to engage delegates with pressing geopolitical and economic challenges and the strategic leadership responses they demand.
Dr. Ved Prakash Kaul, FCIB and Certified Bank Trainer, contributed the perspective of a seasoned financial sector practitioner to the seminar — providing delegates with an informed understanding of how leadership in the banking and financial services sector is shaped by and must respond to rapidly evolving geopolitical and economic conditions.
Mr. Malav Mukherji, CEO of Deflaut Tech Services Pvt. Ltd., offered an entrepreneurial and technology-sector perspective on emerging opportunities and risks — grounding the seminar’s strategic discussions in the lived realities of leading a technology enterprise through a business environment characterised by disruption, uncertainty, and rapidly shifting competitive dynamics.
Mr. Shivendra Kumar Jaiswal of Huxberry Tech LLC brought an additional technology and business leadership dimension to the panel, contributing to a multi-perspective examination of how leaders across industries can identify and respond to emerging opportunities while managing the strategic risks that accompany operating in a volatile and rapidly changing global environment.
The seminar successfully sparked meaningful conversations that inspired future business leaders to approach change with clarity and confidence — reflecting the School of Management’s commitment to equipping students not merely with management frameworks but with the strategic mindset, intellectual agility, and leadership courage required to navigate genuine complexity in professional life.
Students engaged with three senior practitioners from banking, technology, and entrepreneurship in a structured national seminar format — gaining a multi-sector perspective on the geopolitical and economic challenges that contemporary business leaders must navigate, enriching their strategic awareness and professional orientation well beyond the boundaries of any single industry or management discipline.
Exposure to Dr. Ved Prakash Kaul’s banking and financial sector perspective equipped students with an understanding of how financial institutions and their leaders respond strategically to geopolitical risk and economic volatility — providing a practically grounded complement to theoretical frameworks of risk management and strategic leadership encountered in the MBA curriculum.
Mr. Malav Mukherji’s perspective as a technology entrepreneur offered students insight into how emerging opportunities are identified and pursued in fast-moving, high-risk business environments — developing students’ entrepreneurial thinking and their appreciation of the strategic agility required to lead technology ventures through uncertainty and disruption.
The seminar format — structured around pressing real-world challenges rather than abstract academic topics — developed students’ capacity to engage with strategic leadership questions with intellectual seriousness, analytical depth, and the kind of informed confidence that genuine leadership ultimately requires.
The conversations sparked by the seminar inspired students to approach change with clarity and confidence — building the strategic mindset, adaptability, and leadership courage that are the defining characteristics of business professionals who not only understand the landscape they operate in but are equipped to shape it purposefully.
