America is Coming to IILM

The Office of International Affairs, IILM University, organised “America is Coming to IILM – A US Career Fair” on 21 August 2026 at IILM University, Gurugram. The day opened with a Psychology masterclass, “The Craving You Can’t Feel: Semaglutide, Serotonin, and the Hidden Gap Between Brain and Self-Report,” delivered by Prof. Jagan Srinivasan, Professor & Program Director for Neuroscience, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), from 1:00–2:00 PM.

The main session began at 2:30 PM in the IILM University Auditorium, opened by John Lohr, Executive Director of Undergraduate Programmes and International Initiatives. Dr Sri Kumar Panyam, Head – Asia, WPI, presented opportunities across seven U.S. universities: Worcester Polytechnic Institute, San Diego State University, Valparaiso University, The University of Massachusetts Lowell, The University at Albany, Ball State University, and Indiana University Indianapolis. Mr Bhupendra Arya, Manager of Operations, MSME, Government of India, followed with a presentation on MSME opportunities. The session closed with remarks by Ms Varnika Sharma, Manager, Office of International Affairs.

This was followed by a University Interaction Fair at the Moot Court, with one-on-one booth interactions between students and delegates: Dr Sri Kumar Panyam (WPI), Chad Schempp (San Diego State University), Dr Stefanie Heinrich (Valparaiso University), Ela Kijowska (UMass Lowell), Chloe Glenn (University at Albany), Anna M. Bradford (Ball State University), Priya Kurle (Indiana University Indianapolis), and a representative from MSME, Government of India.

The event concluded with a Leadership Interaction Meeting and Working High Tea for institutional leadership to explore areas of academic and institutional collaboration.

• The event gave students direct, one-on-one access to representatives from seven U.S. universities — not just presentations, but personalised booth conversations relevant to individual academic interests.
• Combining an academic masterclass, university presentations, a government perspective (MSME), and a leadership meeting positioned the event as both student-facing and institution-building, opening doors for future IILM–U.S. university collaboration.
• The scale of participation — seven U.S. institutions plus a government body in a single day — reflects IILM’s growing emphasis on international pathways beyond just outbound student counselling
