Disha – B Tech Orientation

The School of Computer Science & Engineering (SCSE), IILM University, Gurugram, organised DISHA 2026, a four-day orientation programme for newly admitted B.Tech students (Batch 2026–30), from 10–13 August 2026. Around 600 students attended, under the mentorship of Dr Shamik Tiwari, Dean, SCSE. The programme opened with an inaugural ceremony, Lighting of the Lamp, and an Oath-Taking Ceremony, followed by sessions on the DigiCampus/ERP system, AI-thon, and AR/VR activities. Over the next three days, students took part in global exposure sessions (“Go Beyond Borders”), an industry panel discussion, the IILM × BNV Entrepreneurship Innovation Lab, CAPERS team-building activities, a Robotics Session, and a Treasure Hunt. The programme concluded with a Talent Show, Valedictory Ceremony, and Certificate Distribution.

• The orientation combined academic induction with hands-on exposure to emerging technology (AI-thon, AR/VR, Robotics) and entrepreneurship (IILM × BNV Innovation Lab), giving students an early look at innovation beyond the classroom.

• • A dedicated day on global exposure and industry interaction — including an expert talk by Xebia and a placement talk — connected students early to career and international opportunities available through the programme

• Structured team-building through CAPERS activities across multiple days was used deliberately to build confidence, collaboration, and leadership skills among the new batch.
