The School of Management at IILM University, Gurugram, hosted the inaugural Industry Networking Conclave — marking the first edition of the IILM Networking Hub, a student-driven initiative designed to build a dedicated, structured platform for intentional engagement between students, alumni, and senior industry leaders in ways that go meaningfully beyond conventional career fairs or guest lectures.
The conclave brought together senior leaders from diverse industries for a panel discussion centred on the significance of networking, relationship building, and industry engagement in building professional careers that are both purposeful and sustainable — providing students with direct access to the perspectives of professionals who have navigated the very professional journeys students are themselves preparing to embark upon.
The student-driven character of the IILM Networking Hub is a defining feature of its institutional significance — reflecting the School of Management’s commitment to empowering students to take active ownership of their professional development rather than passively receiving career support, and to building the initiative, leadership, and interpersonal skills that professional networking ultimately demands.
The conclave was positioned explicitly as the inaugural edition of an ongoing institutional platform — establishing a clear tone, format, and ambition for what the IILM Networking Hub can become as it develops across subsequent editions, and setting a benchmark for the quality and intentionality of industry-academia engagement that the platform aspires to deliver.
The session offered students something that goes beyond academic preparation — direct access to the perspectives of professionals who have navigated the same journey, providing the kind of candid, experience-grounded insight into networking, relationship building, and career development that is rarely available through formal curricula but is among the most consequential knowledge a young professional can acquire.
