Dr. Aneesha Shams is a distinguished legal academician, researcher, and institution builder with nearly three decades of experience spanning legal practice, higher education, academic leadership, and community engagement. She holds a Ph.D. in Business and Human Rights and two LL.M. degrees in Human Rights Law and Intellectual Property & Cyber Law, bringing to her work a rare blend of academic excellence and practical legal expertise.
Throughout her career, Dr. Aneesha has held several leadership positions in premier legal institutions in different States. Her contributions have extended far beyond the classroom, encompassing institutional transformation, curriculum development, faculty mentoring, research leadership, and strategic collaborations.
An accomplished institution builder, she has established academic and research centres, spearheaded national and international collaborations, led faculty development initiatives, and organized conferences featuring eminent jurists, judges, and scholars from across the world. Her commitment to academic excellence has contributed significantly to enhancing institutional rankings, strengthening research culture, and creating meaningful opportunities for students and faculty alike.
Dr. Aneesha’s work is deeply rooted in the values of social justice and community engagement. Her research interests include business and human rights, Dispute resolution, mediation, and women’s rights, jurisprudence and she has presented and published extensively in these areas.
