Dr. Rahul Thakur is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science & Engineering at IILM University, Gurugram. He holds a Ph.D. from BITS-Pilani and an M.Tech. in Data Science from BITS Pilani, with over 10 years of experience in teaching and research. Prior to joining IILM University, he was associated with the MIT Pune Group, where he contributed to academic and research initiatives.

His interdisciplinary research interests include Applied Statistics, Machine Learning, Quantum Mechanics, Cosmology, and Theoretical & Mathematical Physics. His work primarily focuses on supernova explosions, cosmological data analysis, and the application of statistical and machine learning techniques to problems in astrophysics and cosmology.

During his doctoral studies, he worked on two areas of research. The first was the GRAPES-3 Cosmic Ray Project at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), where his work focused on the stability analysis of cosmic ray showers using the Hessian matrix model. The second was the study of the homogeneity and isotropy behavior of the universe using Type Ia supernovae.
