Assistant Professor
Dr Nidhi Rai is an Assistant Professor in Materials Science and Environmental chemistry, with expertise in designing and developing advanced nanoporous materials for environmental and industrial applications. She received her Ph.D. from Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, India, in 2025. Her doctoral research focused on the synthesis and functionalization of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), graphene oxide, and nanocomposites for efficient adsorption-based removal of organic pollutants from wastewater and drug incorporation in nanomaterials.
Her research interests include adsorption science, host–guest interactions in porous materials, functional nanomaterials, sustainable water treatment technologies and drug delivery through nanomaterials. She is a co-inventor on multiple patents related to water purification systems and analytical devices. She has extensive experience in the synthesis and characterisation of advanced materials using techniques such as UV–Visible spectroscopy, FTIR, X-ray diffraction (XRD), spectrofluorometry, XPS and electrochemical methods. In addition, she is proficient in computational and data analysis tools, including Gaussian, Quantum Expresso, Origin, and VESTA. Dr. Rai has received several awards for her research presentations at national and international conferences. As an academic, she is committed to fostering a strong foundation in chemical sciences among students while advancing research in nanomaterials for sustainable environmental, Pharamaceuticals and industrial solutions
