Dr. Gaurav Upadhyay is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at IILM University, Greater Noida. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences from IIT (BHU), Varanasi. His research interests include hyperbolic partial differential equations, conservation laws, Riemann problems, nonlinear wave propagation, shock waves, and magnetohydrodynamics, with applications in computational fluid dynamics.
He has published research papers in reputed SCIE indexed journals such as Studies in Applied Mathematics, Physics of Fluids, and Physica Scripta. His doctoral work focused on shock diffraction, reflection, and nonlinear wave interactions in non-ideal gaseous and MHD systems.
He has teaching experience at IIT (BHU) as a Teaching Assistant for core courses including Engineering Mathematics, Numerical Methods, Probability & Statistics, and Computational Fluid Dynamics, and has also taught undergraduate and postgraduate students at PMB Gujarati Science College, Indore.
He qualified for IIT JAM, GATE, and GSET, and was awarded JRF and SRF during his Ph.D. He also served as a mentor in MTTS Trust programmes, including InitMath 2025 (Amity University, Gwalior) and OFCM 2025. He is committed to fostering strong conceptual understanding and connecting mathematics with real-world applications.
