An Interdisciplinary Approach to Legal Pedagogy

The session was organised to promote the practice of an interdisciplinary approach within the field of law by incorporating emerging domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Intellectual Property Rights, and related technological advancements, demonstrating how law is inherently interconnected with various other disciplines and encouraging a broader, integrative understanding. Dr. Ana Penteado highlighted the various challenges policymakers encounter while integrating technology into legal and regulatory frameworks, and demonstrated how technology can be integrated to provide, manage, and store data effectively in order to achieve specific policy and institutional goals. The session emphasised the importance of policymaking that draws upon interconnected transdisciplinary domains, highlighted best practices to be followed while implementing interdisciplinary approaches across various sectors, and demonstrated how technology can support policy and institutional goals. With the use of appropriate technological tools, outcomes in research, teaching, and policy analysis can become more predictable, structured, and effective, whilst supporting policymakers in identifying, addressing, and overcoming contemporary challenges with greater clarity. The session successfully highlighted the distinction and significance of public good and private good, with such initiatives playing an essential role in promoting practices that contribute to improved academic, institutional, and societal outcomes.
