The two-day hands-on workshop on “Rorschach Projective Test: Administration, Scoring & Interpretation” was designed to provide participants with in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical exposure to one of the most widely used projective techniques in psychological assessment. Day 1 featured Dr. Atul Kumar’s expert session on “Introduction to Rorschach Test and Theoretical Foundations,” covering the historical background and conceptual basis of the test and explaining its role in understanding personality dynamics, including its significance in personality assessment and clinical diagnosis. The inaugural session outlined the importance of projective techniques in psychological assessment and their relevance in clinical practice, establishing the scholarly and clinical foundation necessary for Day 2’s practical training. Day 2 featured Dr. Atul Kumar’s session on “Administration, Scoring, and Interpretation of Rorschach Test,” demonstrating administration procedures and scoring systems, providing practical insights into interpretation and case analysis, and conducting interactive and one-to-one doubt-clearing sessions. The valedictory session concluded with a feedback session where students shared their learning experiences and appreciated the practical orientation of the programme.
Students were introduced to the history, concept, and theoretical foundations of the Rorschach Inkblot Test on Day 1, developing a scholarly understanding of its significance in personality assessment and clinical diagnosis — providing the conceptual foundation necessary for the hands-on practical training delivered on Day 2. Students gained practical knowledge of administering and interpreting the Rorschach Test through step-by-step demonstrations of administration procedures and scoring systems, as well as practical insights into interpretation and case analysis. The one-to-one doubt-clearing sessions provided personalised support that addressed individual queries and significantly enhanced conceptual clarity. Students developed enhanced understanding of personality assessment using projective techniques, and improved analytical, observational, and clinical reasoning skills through the process of applying scoring systems to case examples. Increased confidence in using psychological assessment tools in real-world settings was a key two-day outcome, with students appreciating the practical orientation of the programme.
