
Associate Professor
Dr. Gazala Sharif is an Associate Professor of Law and Director of the Centre for Legal Writing, Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence at the School of Law, IILM University, Greater Noida. She holds a Ph.D. in Human Rights Law from the University School of Law and Legal Studies, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, where she was awarded the prestigious IPRF Fellowship in recognition of her research excellence. She also holds an LL.M. in International Environmental Law from Amity University, Noida, where she graduated as a batch topper, and a B.A. LL.B. (Hon) from the University of Kashmir, Srinagar. She is an enrolled advocate with the Jammu & Kashmir High Court and has cleared the All-India Bar Examination.
With over a decade of teaching and research experience, she commenced her teaching journey as a Faculty Associate at the University School of Law and Legal Studies, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, during the course of her doctoral studies an experience that laid a strong pedagogical foundation. She subsequently joined Amity Law School, Amity University, Noida, as Assistant Professor of Law, where she made significant contributions to legal education, curriculum development, and student mentorship before assuming her current position at IILM University, Greater Noida. She has taught a wide range of subjects including Human Rights Law, Artificial Intelligence and Law, Constitutional Law, International Environmental Law, Family Law, International Law, Women and Children’s Laws, Psychological Practices in Law, and Legislative Drafting, at both undergraduate and
postgraduate levels.
Her research spans human rights, Artificial Intelligence and law, international environmental law, and the rights of women and children. She is the author of three books and has published extensively in Scopus-indexed, UGC Care Group I, and other leading peer-reviewed journals. She has also filed patents with the Indian Patent Office, further reflecting her commitment to translating legal scholarship into applied innovation.
Dr. Sharif serves as Editor of various national and international law journals. She has been the convener of various international conferences, faculty development programmes, national seminars and training Programmes bringing together scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to engage with contemporary legal challenges. She has also presented her research at numerous national and international conferences hosted by prestigious institutions across India and abroad. Dr. Sharif is the recipient of the Best Paper Award at various national and international conferences. Beyond academia, she serves as Vice Chairperson of Ibaadatkhana (an international NGO promoting inter-faith dialogue) and Vice President of the Chinar Foundation (dedicated to Kashmiri cultural preservation and sustainable development)
