Assistant Professor
Dr. Sonal Yadav is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication
Engineering, School of Engineering, IILM University, Greater Noida. She earned her Ph.D. from the
National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar in Department of Electronics and Communication
Engineering, where her research focused on machine intelligence-driven models for the diagnosis and
detection of retinal detachment using colour fundus images.
Her research interests include Medical Image Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning,
Deep Learning, Graph Neural Networks, and Embedded Systems. She has published six SCI-indexed
journal articles, five international conference papers, and has filed an Indian patent in the field of AI-
assisted retinal detachment disease diagnosis.
Dr. Yadav has served as a Junior Research Fellow under a DST-SERB project and as a Senior Research
Fellow under the prestigious CHANAKYA Fellowship funded by the IIT Indore DRISHTI CPS
Foundation. She has also held faculty positions at Apollo Institute of Technology and KCC Institute of
Technology and Management. Her current research aims to develop intelligent, affordable, and
clinically relevant healthcare solutions by integrating deep learning, graph neural networks, and
embedded systems for biomedical applications.
