Dr. Akhilesh Kumar is an Assistant Professor at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, IILM University. With over 24 years of teaching and research experience, Dr. Akhilesh Kumar is an academician and researcher in Computer Science and Engineering with extensive experience in teaching, research, academic administration, and student supervision. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from MNNIT Allahabad in 2024, after completing his M.Tech. from the same institution and a B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from G. B. Pant Engineering College, Pauri-Garhwal. He served as an Associate Professor at Galgotias University from August 2023 to July 2026 and previously worked with institutions including SIET Prayagraj, MNNIT Allahabad, Kanpur Institute of Technology,
and KCNIT Banda. His areas of interest include computer networks, software-defined networking, the Internet of Things, operating systems, and system programming. His research primarily focuses on software-defined networks, peer-to-peer content delivery networks, edge computing, adaptive video streaming, IoT, and next-generation communication systems. His doctoral research addressed the design and implementation of a software-defined, churn-tolerant peer-to-peer content delivery network for improving video-streaming quality of experience. He has guided 14 M.Tech. students and contributed to SCI-and Scopus-indexed journals, international conferences, book chapters, and collaborative research on fog computing, 6G networks, healthcare systems, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. He is also associated with patents related to IoT-based plant pathogen detection and connectivity devices and has undertaken academic leadership responsibilities, including Head of Department, departmental coordinator, website coordinator, and session chair at an international conference.
