Upamanyu Basu is an Assistant Professor of Political Science and International Relations in the Department of Liberal Arts, School of Humanities and Social Sciences. His teaching and research interests include Comparative Politics, International Relations, South Asian Politics, Federalism, Ethnic Politics, Indian Foreign Policy, and China. He has submitted his PhD at the National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), India, where his research specialized in South Asian Politics and Conflict Studies, with a focus on ethnofederalism and political outcomes in Assam and Manipur. He is also a former Non-Resident Fellow at the International Development and Security Cooperation, Philippines. Received a fellowship under Network for Advanced Study of China funded by Takshashila Institution, Bengaluru.

Before his current appointment, he served as an Assistant Professor at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies, where he taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses and contributed to curriculum development, placements, and academic outreach. His research has been published in leading academic journals and policy platforms, and he has written extensively on Indian foreign policy, South Asian politics, and China for the East Asia Forum (Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University), the Institute for Security and Development Policy (Sweden), Observer Research Foundation, Defence Research and Studies, and India’s World magazine. He is committed to bridging academic research with public scholarship through policy writing and digital education.
