Dr. Asutosh Mohapatra is an academician and researcher specializing in food engineering,food customization, encapsulation, and AI-enabled food processing. He holds a Ph.D. from IIT Delhi in Food Process Engineering, where his research focused on the encapsulation ofprobiotics into milk-based functional foods. He also holds an M.Tech. from NIFTEM-Thanjavur. He has academic and research experience at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research & Studies (MRIIRS), Faridabad, and Management Development Institute (MDI),Gurugram, contributing to teaching, research, academic coordination, and curriculum development.
His research interests include probiotic encapsulation, spray drying, functional foods, emerging food processing technologies, dielectric sensing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and ANN-GA-based process optimization. Dr. Mohapatra has published 10 Scopus-indexed research papers with more than 1,700 citations and has contributed to internationallypublished book chapters. He is also associated with patent development and filing in food technology.
He is a professional member of IFT, ISAPP, ASABE, AFSTI, and ISAE. His achievements include the Young Investigator Award (Top 20), India Probiotic Symposium 2024, Best Presentation Awards, and a Doctoral Research Fellowship. His work focuses on developing innovative, sustainable, intelligent, and technology-driven food customization.
