Dr. Chowdhary is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, School of Computer Sciences & Engineering. He has over 17 years of teaching experience in higher education and holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering. His research focuses on Semantic Information Retrieval, Big Data Analytics, Data Science, and Natural Language Processing.
He has published 30+ research papers in reputed Scopus-indexed journals, IEEE conferences, Springer book series, and CRC Press publications. His doctoral research proposed a semantic framework for information retrieval from online social networks using Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning techniques. He has filed three patents in the areas of machine learning, IoT security, and sentiment analysis.
He actively contributes to academic research, curriculum development, and project-based learning, guiding undergraduate students in innovative projects that have resulted in research publications.
Apart from teaching and research, he has played key roles in organizing international conferences, faculty development programmes, and short-term courses in collaboration with NITTTR Chandigarh, and has coordinated online conferences and institutional academic activities.
