Dr. Umesh Chandra Sharma is an academician and researcher in the field of Nanobiotechnology, grain storage technology, nano-emulsion technology, and integrated pest management.
He obtained his Ph.D. in Food and Nanobiotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and an M.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He has qualified GATE examinations conducted by IIT and has academic, research, and industrial experience in biotechnology and solid waste management. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor at IILM and has worked at various institutions, including the National Institute of Technology, Andhra Pradesh, and Ganpat University (Gujarat), where he has contributed to teaching, curriculum development, student mentoring, and research guidance.
His research interests include eco-friendly approaches for grain storage pest management, essential oil-based nanoemulsions, and the development of storage structures. He has published research articles, book chapters, and conference papers in reputed national and international journals and conferences. He is also proficient in advanced analytical instrumentation, including HPLC, GC, FTIR, AAS, and UV-Vis spectroscopy, highlighting his strong interdisciplinary research expertise.
