
Professor of Practice
Dr. Vijay Sakhuja is former Director, National Maritime Foundation, New Delhi, a think tank under the Indian Navy/Ministry of Defence, and former Director of Research, Indian Council of World Affairs, a think tank of Ministry of External Affairs. A former navy officer, Dr. Sakhuja was awarded MPhil and PhD degrees by Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Currently he is Professor of Practice, IILM University, Greater NOIDA, Uttar Pradesh.
Sakhuja has also been faculty of Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS), Singapore; Cambodia Institute of Cooperation and Peace, Cambodia (CICP); Observer Research Foundation (ORF); Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA); United Service Institution of India (USI).
He was Head, Center of Excellence for Geopolitics and International Studies, REVA University, Bengaluru, and Director, School of Integrated Coast and Maritime Security, Studies, Rashtriya Raksha University, Gandhinagar Gujarat.
Sakhuja has published over 40 books, edited/coedited volumes/ monographs on international security issues, ocean governance and maritime law, Blue Economy, Arctic, climate change, and maritime history. He is currently pursuing Industry 4.0 technologies for education.
He is member of the international editorial board of Journal of Indian Ocean Region (Taylor & Francis), and Journal of Indian Ocean Rim Studies and Journal of Greater Mekong Studies.
